On Being A Prophet

" Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations." (Jeremiah 1:5 NKJV) Jesus came into this world, not only to be our savior, but as a prophet for God. Before we were even created, God also ordained us to be His prophets. According to dictionary.com, a prophet is: a person chosen to speak for God and to guide the people; and, a person regarded as, or claiming to be, an inspired teacher or leader; a person who foretells or predicts what is to come, a person who speaks by divine inspiration. And, according to 1 Corinthians 12:28 (NKJV) prophets are a class of persons in the early church, next in order after the apostles, recognized as inspired to speak revelaations from God. God places us right behind His apostles! We are to go out into the world and speak on behalf of God, guiding and teaching others, through, with, and by divine inspiration, sharing His word and telling of things to come. But, we are also cautioned not to hold ourselves higher than others, to be content where we are, and not to do things out of selfishness. We are prophets, and God will reward those who are faithful! Love, Beau
