Blessed Are You...!

"Blessed are the poor in spirit, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, For they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek, For they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful, For they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven." (The Beatitudes. Matthew 5:3-11 NKJV) This is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Handicap Awareness Month, Spina Bifida Awareness Month, and probably something else I'm missing. We are just going to group it all under handicaps because all of the above can potentially be handicapping conditions. Everyone has a handicap of some sort, to some degree. If you wear glasses, that is even a handicapping condition. The good new is the Jesus Christ tell us that the least of us are blessed. The meek inherit the earth, the poor in spirit and the persecuted theirs is Heaven, the mournful shall be comforted. Jesus also tells us to be exceedingly glad when others revile you, speak evil of you, and lie about you. Rejoice for great is your Heavenly reward! In this same sermon, Jesus also teaches us how we should be towards others, and how blessed we are by doing so. He say to be merciful, peacemakers, and pure in heart. In return we are called Sons of God, obtain mercy, and will see God! It all goes back to loving others as we love (or should love) ourselves, doing unto others as we would want to be treated, and not judging until we "walk in the others' shoes." And, it can give us peace in difficult times knowing that the kingdom of God is ours. Love, Beau
