Beau's Sunday Sermon - Rest in God
"The LORD preserves the simple; I was brought low, and He saved me. Return to your rest, O my soul, For the LORD has dealt bountifully with you." (Psalm 116:6.7 NKJV) Everyone runs out of energy and fuel sometimes. Even the strongest, healthiest, most energetic hit empty from time to time. Life's demands, it's ups and downs, and even simple daily chores can drain you. One needs to take time to rest and recharge. Even farmers "rest'' their fields periodically so the earth can rebound again. When God was finished making the universe "on the seventh day HE rested." (Genesis 2:2) And you know, if God rested we ought to too! So whenever you're tired, emotionally or physically drained, discouraged, or just worn out, take note. That is when you need to turn to stop, turn to God, and rest. "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28 NKJV) This is God's promise to us! (So, take a prayer break then take a nap..naps are what cats do best!) Love, Beau
