A Great Commandment, A Higher Standard

"This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you." (John 13:34, 15:12 NKJV) We are to love others as God loved us. And, there are many verses in the Holy Bible that teach us how we should love. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." (John 3:16 NKJV) Do you love someone, or others, so much you are willing to die for them? Also, 1 Corinthians 13 teaches us that love is patient, kind, not jealous or boastful, not arrogant or rude, it does not insist on having its own way, it is not irritable or resentful, and it does not rejoice in the wrong but rejoices in the right. It believes, bear, and hopes all things...and IT NEVER ENDS! In other words, we are supposed to put others first, be kind and caring, and sometimes we have to be the ones to give in even if we don't believe we should. A human doctor named Phil said, "Do you want to be right or do you want to be happy?" He also said that you have to teach people how to treat you. That means you have to also hold them to a higher behavior standard as well. "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you!" How do you want to be treated? What this world needs is for people to get out of the "me me me" mode and start thinking in "you you you" mode. We all need to kinder, gentler, more patient and caring with one another...and pay this forward. It begins with us and we CAN make ths world a better kind act at a time! Love, Beau
