Comfort: A Conversation with God

Contrary to popular belief, the following lyrics, officially done by humans Simon and Garfunkel, is a conversation God wants to have with you. This is what He wants you to know: "When you're weary, Feeling small, When tears are in your eyes I will dry them all. I'm on your side. When times get rough, And friends just can't be found, Like a bridge over troubled water I will lay me down. Like a bridge over troubled water I will lay me down. When you're down and out, When you're on the street, When evening falls so hard I will comfort you. I'll take your part. When darkness comes And pain is all around, Like a bridge over troubled water I will lay me down. Like a bridge over troubled water I will lay me down. Sail on Silver Girl (or boy), Sail on by Your time has come to shine. All your dreams are on their way See how they shine. If you need a friend, I'm sailing right behind. Like a bridge over troubled water I will ease your mind. Like a bridge over troubled water I will ease your mind."* "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort," (2 Corinthians 1:3 NKJV) Love, Beau

*Bridge Over Troubled Water, 1969 lyrics by Paul Simon, sung by Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel, from the album Bridge Over Troubled Water (released January 26, 1970) Columbia records. Produced by Paul Simon, Art Garfunkel, and Roy Halee.

Standing on the Mountain

"As the mountains surround Jerusalem, So the LORD surrounds His people From this time forth and forever." (Psalm 125:2 NKJV) From the time God created living beings, He protected and supported them. A mountain is surrounded by rocks, trees, and earth that help support it and keep it standing. God is like that for us. He is our rock and foundation, and we are His branches. But, unlike a physical mountain, that can deteriorate and crumble from age and weathering storms, the spirtual "mountain" we have with God is eternal and everlasting. It will not crumble, deteriorate, and wither away...especially if we take care of it. You can always stand on this mountain and know that it sturday and strong! Love, Beau

Peace

"The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace." (Proverbs 6:25 NKJV) God shines His face upon us, protecting us, guiding us, answering our prayers, meeting all our needs, consoling and comforting us, celebrating with us, and preparing us for eternity. Despite all our faults and shortcomings, God always looks at us favorably. That means, according to Thesaurus.com, He looks at us approvingly, enthusiasticly, fairly, generously, graciously, heartily, helpfully, positively, and with approval and without prejudice. It was a deep spiritual blessing to be given a blessing of peace, and many instances of blessings can be found in The Holy Bible. God REALLY likes and loves us. And, knowing that "His countenance" always shines on you, should give us all a deep sense of peace! "...may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with you all." (2 Thessalonians 3:16 NKJV) Love, Beau

The First Self-Help Book

It all starts with God, and The Holy Bible. All the answers you need are found in The Holy Bible. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." (John 1:1 NKJV) Some people try to seperate different thinking from the Bible, but the roots can still be found there. For example, psychologists like saying, "You teach others how to treat yourself." This can be found in The Holy Bible as, "And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise." (Luke 6:31 NKJV) No matter what the problem or situation, or what kind of relationship is involved all answers can be found in the very first self-help book: The Holy Bible. So, keep it handy, refer to it often, and like one of mom's shirts says, "When in doubt, read the instructions!" Love, Beau
