Fearing God

"And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require of you, but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways and to love Him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul," (Deuteronomy 10:12 NKJV) Fearing God in The Holy Bible is not how it sounds. It does not mean being scared of God. The ancient word for fear actually translates to reverence, a deep respect and feeling of awe. That is usually a good feeling and not a scary, bad feeling. It is one used for someone you usually honor. So, when you "fear" God, you are actually showing him deep respect and awe...not running for your live, ducking, or going into hiding. We show this in actions by "walking in His ways, loving and serving him with all your heart and soul." So fear God and serve Him! Love, Beau

He Is RISEN!! -- A Prophecy Fulfilled

"And it will be for a sign and for a witness to the LORD of hosts in the land of Egypt; for they will cry to the LORD because of the oppressors, and He will send them a Savior and a Mighty One, and He will deliver them.... But Mary stood outside by the tomb weeping, and as she wept she stooped down and looked into the tomb. And she saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain. Then they said to her, 'Woman, why are you weeping?' She said to them, 'Because they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid Him.' Now when she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, and did not know that it was Jesus. Jesus said to her, 'Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?' She, supposing Him to be the gardener, said to Him, 'Sir, if You have carried Him away, tell me where You have laid Him, and I will take Him away.' Jesus said to her, 'Mary!' She turned and said to Him, 'Rabboni!' (which is to say, Teacher). Jesus said to her 'Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.' Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that He had spoken these things to her." (Isaih 19:20; John 20:11-18 NKJV) Thousands of years it was prophecied that a savior would come and deliver those on earth. Enter Jesus, the son of God, son of Mary and Joseph. Jesus came, was tortured, crucified and buried. He took upon Himself the sins of the world so that we could live. Jesus died in our place. The good news, too, is that Jesus conquered death. On the third day He had risen and was alive! A prophecy had been fulfilled! Because of His sacrifice, and conquering death, we are freed from sin and the consequence of death. Jerusalem

"The next day a great multitude that had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, 13 took branches of palm trees and went out to meet Him..." (John 12:12-13 NKJV) Jesus goes into Jerusalem with throngs of fans waving palm branches. On the surface, it is a great day for Jesus, a triumphant march into the city. And, it is. BUT, Jesus knows what is ahead of Him that week...a betrayal, persecutions, beatings and whipping, and ultimately death... and He will feel alone through the worst of it. It is both the best and worst week of His life. It is also the best and worst week for God too. God loses His only begotten son, but saves the rest of us in the process. It is their choice. In order for us to live, and be freed from sin, Jesus has to die in our place. Choices are not always easy! But, God is a doer not a talker. He loves us sooo much that He acted on that love, and saved us from sin and death. He didn't just say wonderful things, He followed through with actions. That is the way we should be. We should be as passionate about our faith and love of God. Not just talk about it, but acting on it consistently. It's one thing to get up, profess your faith, and quote scripture aloud. It's another to show compassion to those in trouble and help them time after time AND expect nothing in return. That is what Jesus did... ultimately paying with His life. We need to show our love for God with passion and with action. That is our example. Love, Beau

Pray for One Another

"...Pray for one another..." (James 5:16 NKJV) Mom and I have a thing, where if we see fire trucks and or an ambulance with flashing lights, we say a pray for whomever might be involved and their families. God wants us to continually pray for one another. One never knows what might be going in a person's life. Prayer is also a way of building up one another and raising them before God. We all need prayer...both for ourselves and for each other. In addition, praying for one another also pushes us to put others before ourselves, even on days when we might not feel like it, and show compassion, understanding, and more sensitivity. We need to make prayer an ongoing act like breathing...and this includes towards one another. This is what God tells us to do. So, as you go through your day, pray for the people you encounter...it can be a prayer of hope or invention for them, or even a prayer of thanksgiving...just hold them in your prayers. Prayer is a powerful force and it will make things happen in many ways. You'll see! Love, Beau

Blessed and Kept

"The LORD bless you and keep you; The LORD make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you;" (Numbers 6:24-25 NKJV) We are truly blessed by God. Just look around at not only your physical surroundings, but also having love, friendships, and support. God also protects us and keeps us, and He has amazing power and wisdom! His favor and love for us is as big and bright as the sun, always smiling at us. Best of all, when we make a wrong turn, God has amazing compassion for us. He mercifully forgives us, consoles us, and goes ahead and provides for both our needs and wants. And, God is gracious to us in that our 'sufferings' have a limit on them, both in intensity and in time limits. He never gives us more than we can handle, even though God seems to sometimes push the limits. God also never puts us through any trials without reason. Yes, we are blessed, kept in his sight with His face shining on us, and given amazing compassion. What joy! Love, Beau

Becoming the Chief

"The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone." (Psalm 118:22 NKJV) Society often rejects those that are weaker in any form. They are considered less important and of value. But, God does just the opposite. He takes those that are considered weaker, and uses them to let His glory shine. Take David for instance...as a boy he was small and skinny, yet he slayed a giant no one else could...and only with a sling shot and some stones. Then, as an adult he made some very bad judement calls and decisions. But, God made him a great king. There are many, MANY examples in The Holy Bible like this. So, don't ever doubt your worth and value, and don't let anyone try to undermine your worth. God works through all of us, and He will take the least of us and make us the greatest...and since we all have flaws, imperfections, and make huge mistakes God will make all of us great in our own way! Being Well

"Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say, It is well, it is well, with my soul."* Being well starts with being content. One has to learn that no matter what is going on, to be okay with it. That does not mean one has to like it, just be at peace with what's happening. Part of this can also pausing, and taking the time and energy to find the good in everything. For example, if you're in an area paralyzed by snow, you can use that work time and use it to spend more time with your family making wonderful memories playing in the snow. A friend, that worked for hotel reservations, once got a complaint call from a newlywed couple because it was raining and that wasn't the weather predicted. She calmly told them to put on their swimsuits and go play in the rain. They were a little stunned by this, but the friend later got a call from them saying they had played in the rain, and it was the best part of their honeymoon! Taking time to find a way to be okay with the negative can make all the difference! The Holy Bible says, "for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content:..Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have." (Phillipians 4:11b; Hebrews 13:5a NKJV) So, the next time something makes you angry, sad, upsets, anxious, or frustrated...be at peace and be well! Love Beau
